Program officer, Public Engagement with Science program Science for Africa Foundation

Waila J. Mukulu (MPH) is a public health researcher and specialist with over 10 years of experience in research, capacity strengthening, and project management and evaluation.

Ms. Waila has extensive experience working for and in collaboration with government, non-governmental and academic institutions in East Africa, focusing on healthcare service delivery and health research in clinical and field/community settings.

Her research expertise/interest lies in infectious diseases, climate change and interpersonal violence.

Currently, Ms. Waila is completing her doctoral studies at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. She is also a program officer at the Science for Africa Foundation under the Public Engagement with Science program which seeks to bridge the gap between science and society.
